Week 7 Class & Workshop

This week, NAMH, RUTA and YAN hosted the speech and workshop. Their speech is divided into three parts. The first part RUTA explores the role of technology in redesigning the museum experience, the second part NIAMH explores the role of augmented reality in supporting cultural heritage, and the third part Yan studies the discovery technology to support beyond the scope of the museum The role of art. The Ruta section introduces us to the history of the museum over time. She then provided us with samples of current technologies used in the museum environment, such as headphones and touch screen kiosks. Then, Ruta continued to introduce us to the Cleveland Artlense Gallery, which is known for its innovative technology, which has proved to be able to increase interaction with exhibits without obscuring the shadow of the work.


The second Niamh talked about the use of AR and the way it is used to support cultural heritage. She first talked about AR, the emergence of AR, it's development and development over time and we as a society are now in the stage of developing home software to help develop it. Further, Adobe Aero is specifically mentioned. She then continued to show us examples of how different artists and cultural trusts use AR. She talked about the process of using an application called StreetMuseum in London, which placed the original photos in its environment settings from the beginning of the 20th century so that users can see the extent of development and change in London, while in these streets Lived a long time.


The third part Yan talked about the idea of ​​bringing technology-based art out of the gallery environment. He showed us specific examples of the work of Atelier des Lumières studio Gustav Klimt. This is a technical immersive display that displays Klimt's work through a light display.


Next is today's workshop. The task of our group was to redesign the statue of Limerick's most famous radio host. According to our investigation, we found that many people think that the statue looks very different from himself. After investigation and redesign, we decided to re-exhibit it using AR projection technology. We designed a wall to display the redesign of the statue by all other tourists. After determining the final idea, I made a prototype product. And gave a speech to introduce our products.
